Hello,
I just installed Etch using the netinstall CD. Also installed pppoe
using dpkg, from the CD packages manually. pppoe detects and makes the
connection. ifconfig shows the ppp0 details and the ip too.
But I'm unable to ping any remote servers. I am able to ping the ISP
gateway though. The c

Howdy list,
I recently changed ISPs, away from static ips on a dsl line to a single
dynamic ip on Veriz*n's new Fi*S (fiber optic) service. The new service
uses PPPoe - not a problem, or so I thought - I have PPPoe on my
firewall.
Now, I have used PP

Hi!
I have just configured PPPoE on my Debian Sid. I finally managed to get it
online. When starting plog, I get my current (dynamic) IP-adress (local and

But I cannot ping anything, I cannot get out. Ping on myself (static

Of course, it is not necessary to upgrade to woody in order to use

On my potato firewall box, I ran a custom 2.2.15 kernel with the stock

good results. The only problem was that for unclear re
