Hi!
I get occasional kernel OOPS when using Adaptec SlimSCSI PCMCIA
adapters. I have tried two models (1460D FastSCSI and older 16 bit
version) with similar problems. I can read several files (and tapes)
from the jukebox before hangup.. The jukebox is DDS Autoloader
TSL-S9000L by Sony.

Sorry ... I didn't notice ... In /var/log/syslog I see that cb_config choose io

rom mem 6002-6002 (again, almost the same as windoze). Then cb_enable

the io mapping to 1000-10ff and the mem

Dear sirs,
first of all, beg your pardon for the dramatical subject of this e-mail
;-), but I'm really desperated. My problem:
I have an ASUS F7400 Laptop (a.k.a. ASUS Grandio Laptop). I have
installed Debian 2.2 (a.k.a. Potato). I have a PCMCIA SCSI Card: Adaptec

Hello (and Thanks for continued help),
I have included the "xconsole" output, when I insert the card
after the system is up. I also included what is output when I
pulled out the card, as it notes that the SW INT is set and "Why?".
I also made the /dev/sr0 device from /dev with:
mkmod -m 777 sr0

PCMCIA-Howto, but can't get any farther on my own. I even
re-installed 2.1 debian last night, to erase previous attempts

The system actually "sees" it as a JVC CDROM, on PCMCIA-SCSI
adapter which is a "new media bus toaster". It says it i

Hi all,
I would like to buy a pcmcia scsi card for my laptop. Can someone suggest me a

I want to use a jaz disk as my root fs. The problem that I'm running into
is that I need to use a pcmcia scsi adapter -- and pcmcia services are
loaded off the hd. I need to repartition the HD, so of course I can't be
using that as a root fs.
It seems from what I'm reading in
I've a desktop system with an external SCSI disk which carries my Debian
GNU/Linux V1.3 system. Now, when I want to connect this drive to my
portable using an inserted SlimSCSI 1460 card, I've to make an initrd
image (on my desktop), which I've read in the PCMCIA HOWTO (dated Oct 9,
1997) since the
