I've worked around it by adding 'ifconfig eth0 down' to the stop_fn()
section of /etc/pcmcia/network.opts

I've just upgraded a sarge laptop after running for a few weeks without
updates, and now pcmcia-cs (3.2.5-5) doesn't automatically deconfigure the
network interface when I remove the NIC though the old version and the
current woody version (3.1.33-6woody1) do. I don't have any filesystems
mounted
