I am currently running debian lenny with the kernel 2.6.23 (from
kernel.org).
I am not ble to mount the ipod as I keep getting an error message
(pasted below).

I've been looking thru the various players out there recently - and have
just tried amarok. It's probably the player I've felt most comfortable
with so far - and I'd make the switch if I could get it to mount my ipod.
This is under debian unstable - running the e17 desktop (from
soulmachine.net re
VFS: Can't find a HFS filesystem on dev sdb1.
sdb1 contains the system, you have to mount sdb2.
