The following printcap entry works fine for me with my networked HP LaserJet
2100 TN. The 'rp=text' line is suggested on HP's web site as the best way to
prevent the 'stair-stepping' effect when text is printed.

I have been to about every website that shows how
to use lpd but when i
send a print job using lpr to the printer it does
the staircase problem. so I installed the
filter which should keep that from happening, but
