Local mail delivery gone

2002-04-21 Thread Steve Cooper
Hello, I have a working stand-alone Debian Unstable system with a DSL internet connection. It happily receives email from my ISP's POP server using getmail. I have no problem sending mail with postfix, configured for a smarthost. What doesn't work, and hasn't for a while is loca

solved: local mail delivery

Or, at least hopefully it's solved... :) had to be running fetchmail as root, as several people pointed out to me. Also had to add a couple of extra lines to the config file so that it would not reject non-matching addresses. final .fetchmailrc looks something like this: #cat .fetcmailrc poll

local mail delivery

1999-06-04 Thread Chris Flipse
Alright...got a question...probably has an easy answer, but it's got me stumped I have a virtual hosting system set up; all of the email to my machine is put into a single user mail account at a fulltime host. I then grab this mail using fetchmail and, theoretically, it should be delivered t

no local mail delivery

1999-03-19 Thread Graham Ashton
I've just installed a fresh slink box, and selected the "Basic" profile during installation. I can't deliver mail locally (exim is installed), and there are no files in /var/spool/mail. Sending an email to a valid user has no effect - it just sits in the mailq, frozen. What can be wrong with it?

/usr/doc/procmail, and I have to admit that I'm not an expert when it comes to email ;-( According to the docs one can install procmail as the local mail delivery agent (MDA), and one can get rid of the procmail entry in the .forward file. But in order to do so one needs to remove the curren

Hi, There are a lot of things about mail delivery that I'm unsure of right now. Having put more time into thinking about exactly what I want, I've become less certain about my configuration needs. Originally I thought it best to masquerade globally, as this is not email client specific, which
