I'm having a bit of a strange problem. I'm running sid with KDE 4.8.4, and

If ctrl/alt +/- doesn't work, why
don't you just left 1024x768 and
restart x?
Man pages are installed?

Hello. I just installed Debian Etch on an old laptop (IBM Thinkpad
770). It works okay, but the image is half the screen size. It's a
centred box within the larger screen. How do I make it full size? I
tried "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg", thinking that changing the

Perhaps someone can help me here...I am confounded by this.
I am running Debian testing, kernel 2.6.4, on a laptop with an Intel 855
integrated graphics chip, which uses the i810 X display driver. XFree86
has been upgraded to 4.3.x from unstable (4.2.1 does not support this
chip, or so I'm told).
I'm trying to get my laptop into 1024 by 768 by 16bit colour (it's
currently stuck in 8-bit colour)
The Chipset is Chips & Technologies CT65550 and it appears to be doing
funny things with the clock-line.
thanks..
