Hi,
Thanks for one more way do it.
But, now I have upgraded 2.2r5 to 2.4.18 kernel and I
have options to select either of the kernel images.
New Problem :
When booted on 2.2.19 kernel ,This version is on network,I can
do a telnet to this machine from another machine.
But,
When booted on 2.4.18
I'm so embarrassed.
quickly scanned the instructions on STOJICEVIC Edi EXPSIA's email
and saw some steps involving tar.gz files and jumped
to the conclusion that it wasn't using make-kpkg.
Then posted a subset of those instructions.
Oops. sorry.

Debian 2.2r anything will not have a 2.4.x kernel. This is the older
potato release and it is old and out of date. But luckily Debian
GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody) is supposedly coming out tomorrow on May 1. This
release will come with both 2.2.x and 2.4
