issue with smart

Hi folks, I have a little problerm I am hasseling with, maybe you can help. On my 32-bit debian/stable (EEEPC) is popping a window up, that is telling me, that I need root rights, because it can not write the smart data into the disk (or wherever). Does someone know this issue? I checked and t
