Ahh, ok.
For posterity (I sometimes call her pos for short), I wanted to mention a dos
program named iproute written by David F. Mischler.
At most, this has only a slight

My base minimal net install of Etch for not have the "ip" binary at all. A
search in Debian packages shows that it belongs to "iproute".

I am using Woody and trying to set up shorewall.
I need iproute and am without the #2 install cd.
How can I get it online?
I have man'd sources.list and doing what it says there
is getting me nowhere.

I installed Shorewall on a Woody systems and couldn't get it started following
the quickstart guide. The /etc/shorewall/firewall script exited with:
ip: command not found
The quickstart doc mentions that redhat users need to be sure that the iproute/iproute2

Hi all. I'm fumbling through my first deployment of bandwidth limiting
using the "tc" utility, part of the iproute package.
I have a simple setup working (I think), but since I put it in place, my
network has gone wonky. After some period of time, we cease to be able

Is there something wrong with this version of iproute?
The system performs OK. I
Just installed iproute on a potato system (i.e., apt-get install
iproute), which indicated:

There are no visible install errors and no other files were changed to
support dependencies.
However, when I try to use it:

I have problems using iproute. Maybe there's anyone on this list who knows
some details I cannot find in the docs:
1) How do I get traffic control running? I tried running the example script
from the package but only get RTNETLINK error messages. This might be
because I have to enable an
ip and rtmon sent direct.
If you or anybody at all has *any* ideas on how to use iproute2 I would
really like to hear about it. Even sample scripts that make use of it
would be a help. Alexey's skill in creating iproute is sertainly not
matched by his ability to tell us how it
Does anyone have an i386 binary of iproute that they could send me, or
upload to austadnt.fallon.com?
I don't have dpkg, and I can't get it to compile, so I can't install the
debian package. I can't get iproute to compile either. I get a bunch of
errors, then I fix them,
