If you really want output, yo
all of you were right, the scripts were running all the time I was to dumb
to find out the solution.
I was being stubborn on wanting to print on screen the parameters that are
sent to these script, the /dev/null hint and both Martin and Shaleh last

There is no good way. If you need the scripts to tell you something, have them
store it in a file. the ppp scripts could be run via an X app, so you would
not see them anyway. It also

So what makes you think they are not run when you dial in?
You know that they run with redirected stdout and stderr to /dev/null?
Insert a "touch /tmp/i.am.up" into ip-up to check if they are

Are you sure they are not running? They are run with stdout redirected to

Make sure that logging is enabled in the ppp conf files and then look in the
log files for any errors. Also, did you try running the scripts yourself? Do
they run happily?

Cause I'm a fool, I didn't knew about these scripts until you now.
OK, now I´m doing it through pon/poff

I can dial to my ISP without any trouble but the /etc/ppp/ip-up and ip-down
scripts never fire .
I'm using a ppp-on and ppp-off scripts to start/close the connection,
these are just normal ppp scripts.
thanks in advance for any hint.
