dpkg...deb, unpack it, and manually move files into their
proper loc

Look in the project/dpkg direct
mmm... in your opinion would it be better to
tar data and cfg
and reinstall?
I'm somewhat afraid of cfg...
but it's good to consider that it may be easier that.
