found the error: my computer has intel915 chipset, so i need debian sid (higher kernel version) - now my only remaining problem is the graphic driver, but i think i'll fix it soon - it's not realy easy for a linux newbie to install debian on a acer travelmate... regards, gregor -- To UNSUBSC
