Hi...
I would suggest figuring out how to get your ethernet working...
I'm unfamiliar with pppoe... I'm assuming that's a modem thing...
but if you have DSL... get your nic working so you have some speed...
Then use your "apt-get" commands to install whatever you need. :)

I want to install X-Window from the Debian web site. The lab
where I'm 'working' has a DSL connection, however, I can only get
it to work with Windows. Currently, I'm downloading files via
IE to the Dos partition, rebooting to Linux
Can someone point me in the right direction to download packages? I'm
not sure how to use ftp because I don't know how to connect to the
internet with Debian. I'm not sure what packages I should download
first. Thanks for any help.
