I recently updated from potato to woody, and got a new version of
GnomeICU. The old version had a very nice chat feature where you could see
the other person typing away.
The new version doesn't seen to have this facility, it looks like everyhting
is done via messages, i.e. have to hit ent

I had similiar problems with Gabber as well. I was using jabber.at's ICQ
gateway and it suddenly stopped showing people online. I've now switche

Hi everyone,
I know recently that icq changes its protocol and breaking some
ICQ client like GnomeICU, Gabber, and Gaim. I used GnomeICU and
encounter a lot of problem like dropping message silently. Just
wondering if the protocol change issues being addressed? What client
should I use
Hey Guys,
I just upgraded from gnomeicu .90b to .94.
When I go to run it now, I get an error:

Hi!
I have one, more theoretical question:
I have two machine: machine A with debian woody and Helix GNOME and machine B
with Mandrake 7.0/RE and also with GNOME 1.2 (original, not HELIX).
I have gnomeicu installed on machine A.
THen I login to machine A from machine B and try to run gnomeicu

debugging and/or removing. Something's getting
brain-damaged during the build somehow. I've tried doing all of the
normal stuff (removing optimisation, etc) and nothing worked for

Hello all;
I'm running potato (updated 2000-01-22) and GnomeICU has been dying with
this error for *several* weeks:
Gdk-ERROR **: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)
serial 9 error_code 9 request_code 134 minor_code 1
Sometimes it runs for 1 second and other times for as
Hello all,
GnomeICU stoped working this morning when I upgraded to the latest
version of potato (from an older copy.) It dies with this:
bash-2.03$ gnomeicu -a
Gdk-ERROR **: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)
serial 9 error_code 9 request_code 134 minor_code 1
Any ideas?
TIA
use gnomeicu -a instead...

Hello all;
Is there a way to use gnomeicu without the gnome panel and stuff opening
too? I don't need a panel/start menu. WindowMaker works fine without.
Every time I try and run gnomeicu the gnome panel opens too. Also, when
gnomeicu opens I can't see any text except for 'ok

I got Gnomeicu working. It works great with KDE.
Gnome seems to have come a long way since I first tried it too.

It is not very important, but if there is an easy fix, I would like to know.
When I try to start gnomeicu in KDE, I get this:
gnomeicu
type = 0 exid = (null)
** CRITICAL **: file applet-widget.c: line 655
(gnome_panel_applet_corba_init): assertion `panel_client != ((void *)0)'
