the problem was with a 2.2.10 kernel running on our router and an updte
there did fiks it.

|This may or may not have any bearing I seldom need to ftp into my work
box from
|home, but a couple of weeks ago I tried and got a segmentation fault. Having
recently
|upgraded Proftpd on
helo
under whichever circumstances i use /usr/bin/ftp (from pkg ftp)
i will not get any listing or file completed.
whereas ncftp for exmpl. works ganz fine + smooth.
i ve tried this on a couple of different servers (machines as well as
software (wuftpd,in.ftpd,proftpd)) as well as clients.
