I have Squeeze installed on an IBM ThinkPad A22m. The /etc/apt/sources.list and hwinfo --sound follow. alsamixergui yields this message. alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: no such file or directory. VLC gives this message. Please update alsa-lib to version 1.0.23-2-g8d80d5f
