debianizing SRPMS

Is there a way to do this? I have an RH5.1 source cd and I would like to use the kernel-source there. the one I've d/l'd from ftp.debian.org is broken (is it?). I can't find any config for vfat, nls, iso9660, msdos, umsdos under filesystems. TIA k e c h i e
