rootdelay=6
to your kernel command line?
It works with rootdelay.
I need it in my desktop while in the laptop there's no need of rootdelay.

I do have it installed. That is just the point - the module is there but
it doesn't load. The kernel says it can't find it. Kerne 3.2 has no
problem.
