Personally I also noticed some errors after I upgraded my kernel to 2.6;
errors that only showed up in boot, and *didn't* show up in dmesg (or
any other log file in /var/log/).
I still don't undersrtand why they (the error-messages) didn't show up
in a log; they should, as far as I understand?
