I've had to move the mailbox (/var/spool/mail) from the installed location to
another location /db/mail. This was done due to space constraints. Like to
know if anyone knows how to reconfigure cucipop to point to /db/mail instead of
/var/spool/mail. Users are not getting their e-ma
Hello world,
Has anyone done this? I need a clue as I have tried all sorts of pam
things w/o success. I'm running samba 2.0.7 and I want to shift the mail
off the NT box to my Debian box but let users keep their passwords.

an addendum... the delay is dependent on the mailbox size. if i POP to
an account with a small mailbox, it works like a jiffy. however, when
connecting to an account with a 16Mb mailbox size, it takes 20 seconds
before cucipop returns the login acknowledgement.

dear friends,
i allready asked once, but i am afraid, my mail got lost
somewhere...?
so here again:
i am trying to set up cucipop on a newly installed potato system.
only trouble is, it dosent't like to run in APOP-mode, which
would be very important here.
the makevpopdb program complains
dear folks,
i recently installed cucipop to have a APOP server other than qpopper,
which does not work here...
but this one gives an authenticatuion error
whenever i try to use fetchmail with its APOP option on the server
POP3 works fine,m but i'd prefer APOP for security reasons.

How can I install cucipop on a linux box, which uses shadow passwords. I cannot
make cucipop read passwords from /etc/shadow. I think that by default it reads
the password from /etc/password, which is not my case.
Many thanks.

Hello Sir,
We are looking for info on Cucipop Y2K compatability. I have tried
contacting the author, ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), but he has not answered. If you
could please point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Is there anyway to use cucipop to retrieve files from a different mbox?
By default, it retrieves the files from /var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME. But
in my
procmail settings, all the default mails will go to
/home/$LOGNAME/mail/incoming
Thanks.

Hi !
I have a problem with cucipop-1.31 and apop.
It seems that I have to use the makevpopdb command to get cucipop to
work with the apop-method.
(because I have to supply plain-text passwords for apop-crypt to cucipop)
But everytimes I start "makevpopdb /etc/mail/vpop.db" it says m
I run an MTA, but I want a authentication for relayed mails and this is
not possible with smtp. Cucipop ist faster than qpopper, but does not
support XTND XMIT. So cucipop should be default and qpopper for sending
mails via POP3.
But I found the solution: I installed qpopper with --force
the other address. This would require you to modify
the
source code though. Perhaps there's an easier way around your problem. Why
can't you
run smail/sendmail/exim/qmail?

Hello!
Is it possible to install qpopper AND cucipop? cucipop should be the
default pop3 server and qpopper should listen to another port for
receiving emails (xtnd xmit).

How do I decide which POP3 server to run, qpopper or cucipop?
I'll simply be serving mail to my wife's Win95 machine over our lan at
home. I'll get her mail from her ISP over my cable modem or ADSL using
fetchmail. I don't have to _send_ her outgoing mail; the Win95 box will
Cucipop / Qpopper
Any suggestions on which to use, basically...which is better ?
