It is still there in a new *avatar* as a symlink to
'deity'. 'console-apt' is now a dummy package wrapper for
it.

apt-get install works.

Console-apt is in unstable packages on debian.org and aptitude
can be had at sourceforge. The Stormix Package Manager .deb file is
available from the Stormix distribution as a free d/l.

oops, sorry to answ
how do you get console-apt? I can't find any package in potato named
'console-apt'. Are you talking about aptitude maybe? Or is there some
other place i should look?

dave
The latest console-apt has changed the dependency to libapt-pkg2.6.
This isn't there either, but is provided by apt 0.3.12, so it will
unstall. Unfortunately gnome-apt in potato still has the dependency for
libapt-pkg2.5.
You should probably file a bug report on this against gnome-apt.
