compiling kernel with encrypted file systems support

Hi I'm using woody with the 2.4.18-bf2.4-xfs kernel. I've noticed that I can't use encrypted file systems. (according to the losetup manpage it only works with the international kernel - I don't even know what's that). I've searched in kernel.org but I couldn't find patches for 2.4.18. Anybody kn
