Hello. I was trying to compile the instable versión of KDE (3.1.3) on my
Sarge system. For that, I had to install GCC 2.95, as with gcc 3.3 I got
some "sanity check problems". Since kdebase depends on kdelibs and that one
depends on arts, I compiled arts and kdelibs without problems, but when I

Hello,
I keep having the same problem when compiling KDE-based
programs. The ./configure command stops at:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will
fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

KDE is in /us
I was told that my mimelnk stuff should be in a certain place, but it was not
there and although I seemed to not have any problems because of this, I went
about removing all the Debian KDE 1.1 packages and QT. I then installed QT
from source and then installed kdelibs and kdesupport from source.
For those of you that are or will be attempting to compile v1.0 of KDE, there
is a problem with the kdeadmin package source. Evidently, it's a known issue,
but I thought I'd forward the reply anyway...
PS - I've finally managed to get all of the KDE stuff compiled (it took a good
portion of two

I have a mixed libc5/libc6 system that is fairly up-to-date with unstable.
I'm having trouble compiling KDE from source which I think relates to the
fact that I don't have a locales package. If I try selecting locales, I
get the following:
_* Std adminlocales Locale data
