Hi,
I have previously compiled ncurses 5.9 without a problem.
The config command:
./configure --with-shared --enable-termcap --prefix=/usr/local
make install also works on my Debian Wheezy.
I want to use this same package on my server, so I decided to build a deb
using checkinstall. Building
Hello,
I created a package for some software using the checkinstall command. When I
try to install that package using "dpkg -i packagename.deb" it fails due to
some missing directories in /etc. The exact output is the following:

pass through "checkinstall", also because I am no
expert and thus unsure to be able to keep track of all
files installed.
I got the surprise of not finding "checkinstall" on

You have to remove everything in data/lib/modules/2.6.8/ except of the „misc“
directory and the kqemu.ko file. (Within the *.deb file.) To do this, you need

I have download the kqemu-1.3.0pre9:
wget http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/kqemu-1.3.0pre9.tar.gz
and unpuck it to the /tmp/ directory.
Then i cd to that directory and try:
# ./configure && make && checkinstall

Hi Guys,
Is there a way to inform checkinstall that the package
I'm building from sources, and going to install,
should have the list of dependencies ? , or be, inside
of package ".deb" that I building should have a file

Is there a way to inform checkinstall that the package I'm building from sources, and going to install, it's a library which can be used to resolve dependencies?I've compiled sdl 1.2.10 from sources but obviously it's not seen by apt like a substitute of

I have been using checkinstall which ha helped me in installing many
packages by making debs out of tgz files. That is one very useful
software.
Of late, I noticed that it was taking inordinately long time to make a deb
package even after the compilation was over. I then found out that it
was

Hi all.
Anyone know how to have checkinstall NOT add the source files to the deb it
creates? It seems to me that it used to prompt me, asking if I would like
them included. Now it just goes ahead and builds with every damn source
file included.
Perhaps with the --exclude= switch?
But I
