I guess you are using udev, so add this to /etc/udev/cd-aliases.rules:
ENV{ID_CDROM_CD_RW}=="?*", SYMLINK+="cdrecorder%e"
What's the best startup script to put a
# ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/cdrecorder
(needed by cdrdao)?

I installed cdrecorder but the man page says it will only work with a

Hi!
I want to buy a CD-R drive, and I'm between these two:
Panasonic CW-7502-B 4X Recorder / 8X Reader
TEAC CD-R55S 4X Recorder / 12X Reader
TEAC CD-R56S 4X Recorder / 24X Reader
What's best supported? Does anybody around have anything to say in

Hi Timothy!
Use cdrecord, not cdwrite (which I understand is very out of date). I
have only done simple things, such as recording images made with
mki
g out of a lot of message
concerning the timeout on the CDrecorder device.
I checked the dmesg and found out that the Adaptec 2940 driver
printed out something like:
"...Refuse to synchronize, enabling Asynchronous transfer instead..."
on the CD recorder drive.
Any idea
