Hi everybody,
I'm trying to get XFree 4.0.2 DRI work on my Debian Testing box.
My video card is an ATI Rage Fury (Rage 128 with 32MB).
I run kernel 2.4.0-test11, and installed XFree 4.0.2 from debs (I managed
to find out
I have to use ati and no more r128 out of the list, thanx !).
For DRI, I fol

sorry if this is redundant. there was a discussion on comp.os.linux.x
where someone mentioned a howto for this:
ati rage 128-howto: http://www4.n

I had to upgrade to 4.0 you use my card. The debs aren't available yet
for reasons that have already been discussed on this list. However, you
can get the binaries or source code from xfree86.org. I used the
binaries and it was a snap. The driver is called "r128". They have

Hello All:
Has anyone found a working driver for an ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP card?
I have tried the SVGA and it does not recognize the card, but tries to
operate it and I get a blank display which can be terminated with
Ctl-Alt-Backspace. A dump of the xserver's output is below as is the

Hi!
I have so far been experiencing erratic svgalib behaviour.
Basically, if I call something like zgv, I get the following message:
c172d
Int 0x10 is not in rom (:)
No VESA bios detected!
Try running vga_reset.
and zgv (or whatever) runs in VGA mode, instead of SVGA mode.

Hi
What X server must I use to make potato work with
ATI Rage 128 VR (AGP) video card? VGA16 works, but
I need larger resolution. SVGA does not work. I tried
to install manually the SUSE package XFCom_Rage128,
but unsuccesfully.
Thank you!

Hi all,
I had some emails with ATI, and they supplied a spreadsheet containing the
compatibles VESA modes with existing X-server in Linux.
I think it could be interesting for people who experienced problem with this
card.
BTW, I asked ATI when they will give information to the xfree86 staff, in o
