On my desktop i've done the following, it's an ugly way but it's ok now
installation using ./ati-driver-installer-8.24.8-x86.run by setting
X_VERSION to 6.9
cp all from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/ about fglrx to
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/.
ls /usr/X11R6/lib

7.0.0. There are three ways to do that as fas I know:
_1._ The installer from ATI. It gives me:
# ./ati-driver-installer-8.24.8-x86.run
Creating directory fglrx-install
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
