This means that alien (or rather, debhelper, no, it's actually
dpkg-shlibdeps) was unab
I need to use Alien convert several .rpm files to .deb to run on my
Debian system. I noticed this error.
Warning unrecognized substution {shlibs:Depends}
Am I missing something? I do not do this very often and mostly it seems
to work with no messages. This is one I have not seen before.
Thanks.

You're using debian? Do you have the dpkg-dev package installed? What does
822-date say when you run
Hi,
when I try to use alien to convert to a rpm file, I got the following:

All the libs in bo are out of date. So if you want to use E on bo, you
have to compile ALL of the libs yourself. The rpms are libc6 (like Hamm
is). So they won't work.
Take the plunge. If you need help, ask.

I know, I'm trying to install Enlightenment window manager, and a lot of
packages are needed so as some of them are only in rpm format, I've
downloaded all the required rpms and thought alien would

Hi all,
I'm trying to use alien to install a rpm (zlib-1.1.2.i386.rpm) file and I
get the following error:

I've Tried

but got the same result.
Is there any work around?
What am I missing??
Thanks in advance.
