for your sis video card, you need to get the latest xfree86 3.3.3.1.
YOu can either download the binary driver(SVGA) from the xfree86
homepage, or
you can upgrade your system to potato. Potato has 3.3.3.1 but you will
need the glibc2.1
as well.
Having
