X keyboard problems

Hi all. I have had to rebuild the system half way from scratch (messed up X). I've installed X 3.3.6 from stable as a base, and then upgraded some of X components to 4.0.2 (some apps like gimp1.2 is precompiled for 4.0.2 only). Right now 90% of the X on my system is 4.0.2,, the rest 10% 3.3.6. They

I've got keyboard working well without x. With X it works othervise, but some composed characters like ~ don't work. The keyboard is configured as a regular 101- kb and finnish layout. I've read somewhere that there exists a separate kb config program, but don't remember anymore how it i
