Bob,
Thanks for that info - it's always useful to know a prospective package
is "compatible" with the file format of the currently-used package. ;)

The debian lyx beta package is available from ftp.debian.org ... I'd hit
the package search page at http://www.debian.org/packages.html and search
for it. A note: the lyx page there i

Tom,
Thanks much for the link. I've downloaded it and am checking thru the
docs before I jump in. Glad to see that 1023 cyl limit doesn't really
exist. I had suspected that but wasn't sure.

Here it is:

Works like a charm. Only deviation from the included documentation I found
was that it says you need the partition you load Linux on to start at
cylinder 1023 or lower. I loaded Debian on the last gig of a 6gb drive and

If you search for "loadlin" and "win95" you'll find several ways to
dual-boot. I actually found a loadlin-win95 package that gives me a cute
"Linux95" icon for Win95 and boots into Debian. (Still have it at home -
I'll search again and re-post the URL and exact filename.)

Rob,
Nice to know you were successful in installing Win95 into a Linux-based
system. I see you're using multiple physical drives to do that. In my
case, I was trying something of the reverse. I have a Win95B/FAT32
system in a 5GIG drive. I used Partition Magic to downsize the FAT32

decided to finally set it up.
It installed safely without touching any othe
