OK, a few things about Winmodems - experience in an ISP tech support call
center in the UK speaking here ! :

Personally, depending on how
I work for an ISP. Have for going on three years. Find out what your provider
uses and get one that works with them. US Robotics (all of them) have been a
plague for tech support since the day I started. The new X2's were not much
better. I personally tell customers to stick to Rockwell modem

I need to purchase a modem for a Debian box and I was wondering if anybody
had a suggestion. I know to stay away from "WinModems" but they are
rapidly becoming less conspicuous so I want to be sure I don't get one.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
