I've been having trouble with gpm not working after an upgrade (a while
ago. the latest update (woody) still doesn't work).
When I run "cat /dev/psaux" and move the mouse, garbage comes out as
expected.
I have found that this command gets gpm working:
# strace gpm -D -m /dev/psaux -tps2
I would try to remove the line
repeat_type=ms3
first.

from Potato. I'm using a Logitech multiprotocol ps2 mouse in ps2 mode.

I commented out the repeater line, and now everything works nicely.

Hmm, this is a new one.
When GPM is running, the mouse will work in the console... but the mouse
cursor in X freezes and won't move. When I stop GPM, mouse access is
lost in the console, and the X mouse cursor comes back to life. I've
never before seen GPM cause the mouse to stop working in X...
