Hi,
I have an old (sic) Siemens Scenic 510 laptop on which I installed Storm
Linux 2000. Since this no longer exists I would like to migrate to the
regular Debian. I know everything works because I installed r2.2 (august
2000) in the past and everything worked fine. The trouble is I now have

Hello,
I
just got Storm Linux 2000 Debian and I was planning on using it as my server
for my website. I was using nothing but Windows before, so I have no clue about
how to use this. So I have a couple questions, and all the how-to guides I have
read are only telling me

I have a USB 3com USR 56K modem and a USB Alps MD-5000 printer that I'm
having trouble installing on storm (hail), Starter Edition that I purchased
recently.
I haven't tackled the printer yet, but according the 2.2.16 docs (acm.txt),
I need to load usbcore.o, usb-[uo]hci.o or uhci.o, and acm.o. Th

Hello,
I have been using Storm Linux, but am tired of KDE.
I installed potato, and the helix-gnome, as well as some of the window
managers.
Here are my questions:
1) I tried a bunch of window managers and the helixcode stuff, and now
my destop is broken (I think WindowMaker did...something
I bought the Storm Linux box and tried installing on various hardware.
The graphical install, randomly, failed writing the packages. I got the text
based install to 'work' but the the reboot failed. I finally 'installed' it by
installing my Debian slink2.1r1 disc's and
Sorry. It wasn't fair to compare Storm and Corel as I've not used
Storm. I should have changed the subject and just said Corel have
done a good job in taking Debian and wrapping it up in a way that
can be sold in schools and offices along with WordPerfect.
The Corel installer is very good. It n
Hello there,
There have been a couple of postings recently regarding Storm
Linux which uses Debian as it's base. I just thought I'd post my
experiences with this dist. I downloaded the iso image that is available
at http://www.stormix.com/download/index_html and burnt a CD

Further to this thread, I would be very interested to know what other
Debian users think of Storm Linux. I know many of you are purist Debian
users, but I think Storm have done rather a nice job in the packaging
and usablity departments.

Well I now use Storm Linux - I was so impressed when I tried it on a spare partition after having tried Corel Linux. Stormix have 'created' an excellent distribution which must be of interest to members of this lis
