Have you tried the Ensoniq AudioPCI support in the kernel -- it's not in
the OSS modules section?
Of course, ALSA is an
I may be wrong, but from my experience with OSS you don't have to use
isapnp at all.
Thats the reason OSS is out on the market: It replaces isapnp, in a more
efficient way. You still need to compile kernel, though. Just read the
README file that comes with OSS. I think they describe it all there.
A
I have an Ensoniq AudioPCI. I don't know how to get my sound working.
What is the answer? Please advise.

Yeah. That solution is well-known, but the trick here is to get the sound
working WITHOUT having to pay.
As far as I am concerned, that OSS alone would cost me twice of what I had
to pay for hamm cds. With delivery. Also, OSS can cause some problems. At
least on my machine the demo was very screwed
If anyone has had the problems with getting sound in Linux as I
have then go to:
http://www.opensound.com
They have sound drivers for almost any card. You will be out
$20.00 US. They have evaluation versions to download.
I had sound in 5 minutes without having to recompile my kernel.
