I recently upgraded my display to a 4K monitor.
I am running it with a new instance of Debian 12 under the Mate desktop,
though I think the problem happens with other desktops.
I had the immediate problem that most text was almost too small to view.

Ok, that worked brilliantly! I just followed Mark's suggestion of putting
that line in my 20-nvidia.conf.
Thanks!

Hello,
I've just installed the nvidia drivers after following the instructions

I think this could be related to the EDID settings but I'm not sure how to
set this

Do you use KDM?
If using KDM, it may cause that problem.
You can change font size in KDE Control Center.

After dist-upgrading after Oct. 8, I have a problem with dipslaying in X
except with GNOME applications. I'm using unstable.
The problem is fonts in X is too small, especially the Chinese
characters in chinput. That's not the case before Oct. 1.
I guess the problem can be due to the X system

on of setting 100dpi ahead of 75dpi in the font path will
make the larger fonts too large. So the best solution is to only offset the
small fonts (6,7,8 pts) to appear as 9 pt fonts. And leave the larger fonts
as is. The best way to do this is with TrueType fonts and fonts.alias.

Hello,
Does anyone have this same problem? I run my monitor at 1600x1200, so i
know my text is going to be small. But some stuff is really tiny, i have

Probably even better, see also

John, someone posted recently a link to an X font deuglification mini-howto.
It isn't a proper part of LDP, so search standard search engines for it, or
scan your backlog of debian-user.
I haven't tried much of what is in the thing, I was thrilled to get xfstt
running, and left it at that. :)

Hello
Why is that even though I have both the 75dpi and 100dpi fonts installed
for X windows, Netscape still uses tiny unreadable fonts?
