Dear Ethan,
Your scale has a DB9, DB25 or USB connector?
It is important to make sure that the cable you are using has the
correct pinout.
Your scale has come with a cable from manufacturer or you set up the
communication cable yourself?
The DB9 serial cable for communication use, in gener

I also found that userland tools don't work very well with serial ports.

I have the same problem on a 600E-2645-4AU.
The solution was to build pcmcia-cs with the -pnp option, so that lspnp/setpnp worked.
Then, I can use setpnp to change these without having to boot into Losedoze or DOS.
I've also just pulled out the pnp-
Hello everybody
I have a strange (maybe not) problem with serial port (I think)
I have tried to install genpower to monitor a UPS.

Does it work if you don't have yo
I am having trouble getting the serial port on my laptop to work. I have a
Dell Latitude running potato. The port works fine when I boot into Windows -
it is Com1 at x03F8, irq 4. I have had no luck getting it to work in Linux,
however. After boot, "dmesg" gives me:

Serial driver version 4
Friends,

Greetings--
I recently upraded my motherboard and installed Slink where I was using
Hamm before, so a number of things changed at once. But:
I am attempting to run pilot-link stuff, as well as connect my UPS again

Are you sure setserial sets the IRQs for the ports correctly? setserial can
only guess
the IRQ for a given port but if it isn't the 'standard' value then it will not
be
correct and you won't pass data.

I am a new Debian user and am having problems getting my modem to work.
Setserial finds the ports fine during startup but when I either run
minicom or try to start a ppp session there is no response from the
modem. I have a USR internal sporster which is not a winmodem, but to
be safe i hooked up m
