I have a problem when trying to scan with my usb printer
HP_LaserJet_MFP_M227-M231.
Printing works perfectly, but trying to scan gives:
error: SANE: Error during device I/O (code=9)
When I run hp-check or hp-doctor, it is listed in the scanning devices,

Problem: USB Scanner locks up (does not reset?) after one or two scans.
Disconnecting the usb cable and reconnecting it solves the problem for
another couple scans.
The system is Etch with a 2.6.18 kernel compiled from the Debian source.
The problem was first encountered several months ago

Hi,
scanner help needed.
I just installed a fresh Debian 2.2R3 and wanted to scan.
So I installed sane.
But when I run xscanimage it says it can't find any devices.
That makes me wonder, because:
During bootup the the BIOS finds my SCSI scanner.
During Linux load, Linux finds my SCSI scanner.
