Hi,
Recently I installed Debian and Samba on an old desktop computer and it
works perfectly, except each time I boot up my laptop, before I can print
from the laptop to the samba printer, I need to log in. I would prefer
to have it automatically log in or authenticate, or just open the samba
I am trying to connect to the samba printer on my windows machine but I keep
getting the error:
E [26/Feb/2006:16:54:22 +0200] [Job 322] Unable to connect to CIFS host, will
retry in 60 seconds...
I tried telling cups explicitly to use the guest account but it doesn't solve
the problem.

Hi group,
Since upgrading samba from woody to sarge (2.2 -> 3.0), I have the
following problem: I can still use my printer shared via cups, but it
doesn't show up in the browse list. This is my smb.conf:
# Samba config file created using SWAT
# from 192.168.20.20 (192.168.20.20)

Last week I was able to print from Windows machines on a printer shared
with
samba. Since yesterday I can't.
I get the following message:
# smbclient my-machine\\printer -P -c"print /file.txt"
load_client_codepage: filename /etc/samba/codepages/codepage.850 does

Hi!
I've finally installed samba + lprng on an ageing i386. I have two

This is /etc/printcap:

Hello,
I've been combing Debian Glimpse and dejanews, but haven't found anything.
:( Here's my story:
I have Samba installed and sharing files to my Win95B ThinkPad just fine.
When I highlight my Linux box (Mattyt) in Windoze Explorer, it lists my

Hi
I am giving up. I cannot print to my Samba printer (attached to Linux)
and I was able to do it before. I do not remember what I have done
first upgraded to glibc or recompiled samba 10 times.
It is not my windows client problem -- because when I use
