Lets start from the beginning. Have you made and tested your custom kernel
build? Have you packaged the kernel and other custom software into deb
files? Have you tested this? Have you gotten the base install cd you want to
use and extracted the ISO and cramfs (I think that's what is on there).

As per licensing, my company is very aware of what we are doing with
regards to the different licenses. For example, the IP we are adding is
to a BSD licensed package. We have a flagship product that isn't *nix

My company is producing a value-added distribution. The base system is
Debian GPL. We're adding a package that has our IP in it. We'll host a
repository that maintains the Debian packages and our packages. While
we could just do a "standard" distribution, we do want to change some
defaults

I'm trying to figure out how to make my own Debian based distribution.
Either I'm asking the wrong question on Google or there is no information.
I'm trying to take Debian and build a custom install for a product. I
need to replace the kernel and add a few things to this installation CD.

As some of you may remember, I am interested in "rolling my own Debian".
This would be a minimal ISO but with an up to date 2.4.23 for new
drivers, and perhaps the Nvidia ones as well. The purpose is to give me
a way to install on bleeding-edge motherboards with SATA RAID etc.
