Everything is in that XF86Config-4, create one with dpkg-reconfigure
and another with old xf86config . And run diff for both . You will get
a diffrence.

# XFree86 -configure

Best thing would be to have a look into /var/log/XFree86.log. It lists
all the messages from XFree86, including the reason
