Yes, here is part of the lsmod result.
localhostnl:/home/wstan# lsmod

vfat9408 0
umsdos 23936 0 (unused)

Do you have the vfat module installed or vfat support compiled into
kernel?

Interesting - that's of course not what I was referring to, I was asking
whether he had two different partitions he was trying to mount at the /mnt
mountpoint. But what you did doesn't work on my machine:
nujoma:/mnt# mount
/dev/hdb3 on / type ext2 (rw,errors=remount-ro,errors=remount-ro)
proc o

I can do the following:
debian:/home/penguin# mount /dev/hda10 /mnt/bogus/
debian:/home/penguin
I am able to mount hda1 (Fat16) just fine but can't do it
with hda3 for some strange reason.
I did try your suggestion though and got this:
localhostnl:/home/wstan# mount -t vfat /dev/hda3 /mnt
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda3,
or too many mounted file systems
It is also possible that you are supplying the wrong type, just as the
error message indicates. While Win95 can be made to format and install
itself on a fat16 partition, I think it will prefer a newer type partition,
which I think linux recognizes as "vfat". Try
mount -t vfat
Mike
On
There is nothing else mounted as far as I can tell.
localhostnl:/home/wstan# mount
/dev/hda6 on / type ext2 (rw,errors=remount-ro,errors=remount-ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)

Forgive me if this is obvious, but is your first one mounted on /mnt? You
can of course have only one filesystem mounted at a given mountpoint.
