DOS/Win9X fdisk can not delete non-DOS partitions (such as Linux partitions) when they are inside an extended partition, and will then also refuse to delete the extended partition itself in that case. If you still have a Linux boot floppy around with Linux fdisk or cfdisk on it, that will do it. O
