I also have no sound with a recent etch install and an onboard Intel sound card. If I play a test sound with aplay or mplayer, I get no sound and no errors. I did run alsaconf. Sound works OK on the same machine booted to the XP partition. Some specs of my etch system are at the bottom. On Mon
