Hi Well, my maxtor is at least 2-3 years. and I have this problem a while after I upgrade to 2.4.x kernel couple of months ago. first I thought there might be problem with 2.4 kernel, but I am not sure. and it happen (all 4 times) when I was using dpkg upgrading my system. Edwin Lau On
