Same Problem with a Radeon Mobility 9100IGP, the problem began after the
XFree86 -> X.org transition.
I am using the standard etch driver.

You may want to try commenting out the Load "dri" entry in X config file.
Saw a similar problem when configure for local xsession and remote
xsession to another host on vt10.

i commented module dri but after that i have no 3d acceleartion. but
you re right that no problem after that.
my problem exists only when i have 3d acceleration enabled.
