Please, don't threat with the microstuffit :-) Concerning your not very specific question here is my rule of Thumb: No matter how large your HD is you will end up filling it. seriously, you may want look at the Debian FAQ revamped recently (great job!) under any debian mirror in /doc/FAQ/
