Your hard driver geometry, is it over 1024 cylinder?

should like this
boot=/dev/hda
root=/dev/your_root
# if over 1024
lba32
# must have option compact
Check in BIOS, in the hard drive configuration, pls
see if it has a featur
nel on the HD
with the one from the floppy?
