Hi,
Here is the lilo.conf from my laptop, please note that
multiple images are referenced, beyond the two that make-kpkg
manages.

You could just add the new entry to lilo and run "lilo" when you're done.
You just need to call the entry something else than "Linux" or
"Linux.old".
I have something like this in my lilo.conf:
image=/vmlinuz
# initrd=/initrd.img
label="Debian2.4"
read-only
# restrict

When you run make-kpkg, you could add the "--append-to-version=-xxx" option
to give /lib/modules/2.x.x-

I dont believe you can. And anyway its not deleting your kernel, its
only deleting the symlink to that kernel. It
